This is a nice Wm. Ellery Grade, American Watch Co. (Waltham) pocket watch made in 1868. It is in excellent running order and keeps excellent time. It has been recently cleaned, oiled and timed. SIZE and WEIGHT This is a 18 size 1857 model. It measures around 59 mm (2.32 inches) in diameter (excluding pendant crown and bow). It weighs about 180 g (6.3 ounces).CASE The open case is made of COIN SILVER and still in excellent condition for its age without any damage.Inside the back lid, it is engraved DUEBER COIN, with serial number 62784. Inside the dust cover, it is engraved with the digit 4 (four ounces) and serial number 62784. All lids have strong hinges, open and close as they should. MOVEMENT 18 Size movement in excellent and clean condition.Marked Wm. Ellery, WALTHAM, MASS. with serial number 383132, Fogg's Patent. The pillar plate is marked with patent date: 14 Feb. 1865. This is a key wind and key set movement and has 11 jewels. No. 4 key is included. It is running strong and keeps excellent time. DIAL The white porcelain dial is in excellent condition. I can see a small imperfection at the edge between one and two o'clock (hidden when the bezel is closed).It is marked American Watch Co.. HANDS The spade and whip blue steel hands are original and in excellent condition.CRYSTAL The glass crystal is very thick and in excellent condition without scratches or chips.This is a nice pocket watch fully functional and has been professionally checked and timed.
