Code BA25012601: Victorian Short & Mason Brass Compass, c. 1890
| This is a nice Short & Mason compass made around 1890. It comes in a large solid brass case engraved with the logo of the Short & Mason, London company. The case is in excellent condition without any dings or dents. It has gained a very nice patina over the years. The compass is covered with a beveled flat glass crystal in excellent condition. The hand-painted floating dial has a very nice design typically used in the 1800s. The compass is in full working order and finds North easily. The transit lock is activated when the lid is closed. It measures around 68 mm in diameter. |
