pocket watch made for the English market around
1909,
with Solid Silver open face case in full working order and
keeping
excellent time. The case is made of Solid Silver. It
is in
excellent condition. It has no dings or dents. It is made
by Dennison of Birmingham and has all silver hallmarks for Birmingham,
1909. The case weight is 2Oz. The case
has an engine turned back with an empty space for engraving.
Inside the back lid it has the Dennison Watch Case Co. initials A.L.D.
(Aaron Lufkin Dennison). All hinges are strong. All lids open and close as they should. The face is white porcelain with black Roman numerals marking the hour. It
has also numerals marking the minutes. In
excellent condition
as can be seen in the pictures. Blue hands are in
excellent
condition. The bevelled glass crystal is in
excellent
condition without chips or scratches. The lever movement is immaculate and
has a special light design that allows seeing the wheels. It is engraved
PHOENIX LEVER, SWISS MADE. It is
running
strong and keeps excellent time. |

The case maker was Aaron Lufkin Dennison of Birmingham UK, he manufactured watch cases from late 1874 at 24 Villa Road, Handsworth UK. As part of the war effort he diversified into compass cases. He was originally the Managing Director of the American Waltham Watch Company in the USA, where he made the very first watch with interchangeable parts and produced watches of Railway quality. He was known as the Founding Father of the American Watch Making Industry.
