| This is a nice Elgin pocket watch made in 1896. It is in excellent running order and keeps very good time. It has been recently cleaned, oiled and timed. SIZE and WEIGHT This is a 6 size model. It measures around 42 mm (1.65 inches) in diameter (excluding pendant crown and bow). It weighs about 58 g.CASE The hunter case is 12K gold-filled (tested) and still in excellent condition without any visible wear. It has a personal inscription on the dust cover. Engraved with serial number 506196. It is also marked C. W. C. CO., PLANET, with a crescent and a star inside.All lids have string hinges, open and close as they should. The front lid springs open when the crown is pushed as it should. MOVEMENT 6 Size movement in excellent and clean condition.Marked ELGIN NATL. WATCH CO., U. S. A. with serial number 6095352. It has a Safety Pinion, which protects the wheel train in case the mainspring is broken. This is stem wind and set movement and has 7 jewels. It is running strong and keeps very good time. DIAL The white porcelain dial is in excellent condition without any hairlines.It is marked ELGIN. HANDS Blue steel hands are original and in excellent condition.CRYSTAL Glass crystal is in excellent condition without any scratches or chips.This is a nice pocket watch fully functional and has been professionally checked and timed.
