Code T05: English Hunter Compass, c. 1900
This is a nice antique English compass, made around 1900. It comes in a hunter case made of nickelled brass and is still in excellent condition without dings or dents. It has a strong hinge and the inside of the lid is engraved with its serial number: 48 S. The glass crystal is in excellent condition without chips or scratches. It covers an attractive dial also in excellent condition. The dial is engraved MADE IN ENGLAND. The compass is in full working order and points North precisely. It has a functional transit lock when lid is closed to avoid wear to the jewelled cap and pivot when the compass is not in use. It measures 46 mm in diameter. |
