Code BA25030601: Swiss Longines (Redacted) Compass, c. 1920

This is a rare SWISS pocket compass made by Longines around 1920. It has a very slim brass hunter case with only 7.75 mm thickness (less than 1 cm). The case is in excellent condition. Inside the lid it is marked with 3-digit serial number 797. Usually, these compasses have typically 4-digit serial number between 1000 et 4000. So this is an early example and is considered to be rare. It has a nice rotating dial card in excellent condition. This compass was redacted for unknown reason and the inscription Longines was hidden. A picture shows a Longines exmaple side by side with this compass. The flat crystal is also in flawless condition without scratches or chips. In full working order and finding North precisely with transit lock when the lid is closed. The compass measures around 44 mm in diameter. This is a rare and quality compass for the serious collector.
