Code BA24061742: Pre-First World War J. HICKS LONDON Compass, 1911
This is a rare pre-WW1 officers compass. The case is made of brass and still in nice collectible condition with normal signs of use. The front lid is engraved J. HICKS, MAKER LONDON, V, 5982, 1911, 2WK, 25, with the military arrow /|\. These inscriptions are worn but still visible as shown in the photos. Inside the front lid it is engraved with two serial numbers 35 and 46. The bevelled glass crystal and Singer's patent floating dial are in excellent condition without any damage. In full working order and finds North easily, with strong hinge including the transit lock. It measures around 4.7cm in diameter. |
