| This is a nice and large French sighting compass dating from early 1900. It comes in a sturdy brass full hunter case in nice condition. The dial is in excellent condition and marked FRANCE. The hinged sighting vanes are in excellent condition and can be folded and unfolded without any problem. The compass is covered with a glass crystal free of scratches and chips. It is in full working order and points North easily. The transit lock that prevents the needle from moving is also in working order and can be activated by moving the lever on top of the compass toward East. It measures around 52mm in diameter. |
