| This is a WWI U.S. Engineering Department USANITE model compass. It comes in a full hunter Nickel case in excellent condition. It has a strong hinge and the lid springs open as it should when the button is pushed. The case is engraved ENG. DEPT. U.S.A. 1918. The face is stamped with USANITE, Taylor, Rochester, NY, PAT. APR. 20-1915. The compass finds North precisely and the transit lock is in working order. It measures around 4.7cm in diameter. Would make a nice gift. |
