Code BA22091201: Victorian Hunter Compass with Singers Patent Dial, c. 1880
| This a nice Victorian compass made around 1880. It comes in a Nickel case in excellent condition without dings or dents. It has a strong hinge and the lid springs open as it should when the push button is pressed. The Singer's Patent dial is hand-painted and in excellent condition. It is marked England. It has a jewelled brass cap and points North without any problem. The transit lock is activated when the lid is closed to protect the pivot from wear when the compass is not used. The compass measures around 38mm in diameter excluding the pendant and ring. Would make a great gift. |
