This is a WWII officers pocket antique compass, engraved MK VI, J. M. Glauser & SONS LTD, LONDON, B 18125, and military arrow. It is virtually in mint condition. Inside the case and next to the crystal stamped 7159. The Dennison case is nickel and in excellent condition. No dings or dents. Bevelled glass crystal with lubber line is in excellent condition. It covers the attractive dry dial card. In full working order finding North easily, with strong hinge and functioning transit lock when lid is closed. Measures about 46mm in diameter. |

The case maker was Aaron Lufkin Dennison of Birmingham UK, he manufactured watch cases from late 1874 at 24 Villa Road, Handsworth UK. As part of the war effort he diversified into compass cases. He was originally the Managing Director of the American Waltham Watch Company in the USA, where he made the very first watch with interchangeable parts and produced watches of Railway quality. He was known as the Founding Father of the American Watch Making Industry.
