Code BA20070701: L. L. Bean Hunter Compass, c. 1915
| This is a nice antique compass made by Taylor for the L. L. Bean Company between 1910 and 1920. The full hunter case is nickel and in mint condition (no dings or dents). The front lid spring open to a right angle as it should when the button is pushed. It has a strong hinge. The face is stamped L. L. Bean, Inc. Freeport, Me. The compass is in all working order and finds North precisely. The transit lock is also in working order and is activated when the li is closed. It measures about 4.5cm in diameter. This is a rare example and difficult to find in this condition. |
