Code BA18111001: Vintage Aurapole U.S. Engineering Department Compass 1915
| This is a Aurapole compass dating from 1915 and was used by the Engineering Department. This compass has a nickel case still in excellent condition. On the front lid it is engraved ENG. DEPT. USA 1915 with serial number 10670. The case is in excellent condition without dings or dents. It has jewelled bearing, and a working transit lock. The face is stamped with Short & Mason, LONDON, ENGLAND. When the button is pressed the lid springs open as it should. It has a strong hinge. The glass crystal is clear without any scratches. In perfect working order and finds North without any problem. It measures 4.5cm diameter. |
