This is a WW1 Verners pattern military marching compass with leather case, dated c.1916. Made by the famous J. H. Steward of London. The brass case is excellent condition and has a strong hinge. It is marked J. H. STEWARD, LONDON, VERNERS PRISMATIC. Has brass knob on the side for transit locking of dial. The compass has also a magnifying prism for precise angles calculation (for target engagement). The compass and leather case are in great condition. This is a fine example by a quality maker.
