The Boreal Arrow

Code BA140124538: Francis Barker and Son Silver Hunter Compass, Hallmarked London 1900

This is a large and rare full hunter compass made by the famous Francis Barker & Son firm in London in 1900. It comes in a solid silver case that is still in excellent condition with only normal signs of use with only a couple of light dents. It has English hallmarks and maker mark: F. B. & Sn (see pictures). The case has a strong hinge and the front lid springs open to a right angle when the push button is pressed. It has a mother-of-pearl dial, which is a real beauty. The dial is signed F. BARKER & SON, MAKERS, LONDON. It measures 52 mm in diameter. It is in excellent working order and points North without any problem. The transit lock is also working when lid is closed. This is a beautiful compass that would make a great gift.
