Code BA131029509: Antique Short & Mason Tycos Hunter Compass, c. 1900
This is a nice hunter compass made by Short & Mason in the early 1900. The compass has a sturdy brass case, in excellent condition, with a nice patina. It is has a snap cover case (no spring). The case has a monogramme on the front lid. The compass has a dry card in excellent condition and marked Tycos, which was strictly made by the Short & Mason company. The beveled glass crystal is in excellent condition. No chips or scratches. Marked with four cardinal points in red. Inside the front lid is inscribed the serial number 52. It is in full working order and finds North easily. Has also a transit lock activated when the lid is closed. This is a nice and quality small compass measuring approximately 41mm in diameter not including the ring. |
