Code BA131008487: Late 1800 Wooden English Sundial and Compass
| This is a rare sundial compass in a wood case made around 1880. The wood case is in excellent condition without damage. Only normal signs of aging. The compass is covered with high domed glass crystal in excellent condition without chips or scratches. The rotating dial has Roman numerals with a gnomon that allows reading the solar time. Around the dial there is a silver coloured ring. Inside the cover there are hand-written inscriptions. The compass points North without any problem. The maximum diameter of the wood case is 57mm. Its height is 42mm. The height of this sundial is much greater than similar sundial. |
