| This is a WWI U.S. Engineering Department USANITE model compass. It comes in a full hunter Nickel case in excellent condition without dings or dents. It has a strong hinge and the lid springs open as it should when the button is pushed. The case is engraved ENG. DEPT. U.S.A. 1918. The face is stamped with USANITE, Taylor, Rochester, NY, PAT. APR. 20-1915. The compass finds North precisely and the transit lock is in working order. It measures 4.5cm in diameter. Would make a nice gift. |
