Code BA13061594: ALIDADE General PEIGNE French Sundial Compass, c. 1897

This is a rare find. It is a nice French ALIDADE compass with Colonel Peigne system and manufactured by Delagrave in Paris. It was made around 1897. This particular example comes with its original box and four pages of instructions of use (in French). The wood case is in excellent condition as can be seen in the pictures with also full instructions of use in French (very detailed). The compass has a flat needle that can be locked by turning the knob next to the crystal. It has also a clinometer hand. The dial is in excellent condition and very detailed. The compass finds North precisely and easily. The lid opens and closes as it should. Very nice compass in great condition. Dimensions : 94 mm x 92 mm x 34 mm. |
