Code BA13042042: Francis Barker & Son Compass, c. 1900
This is a nice British compass made by Francis Barker & Son in the early 1900. The compass comes in a purpose made solid brass case in excellent condition. It has a nice variation of the Singer's Patentdial in excellent condition. The dial is marked with the maker's logo: TRADE MARK LONDON and interlaced F. B. & S. The brass cap allows the dial to rotate smoothly to find North precisely. A small pin is located on the bezel next to the dial and is pressed when the lid is closed. This freezes the dial when the compass is not in use. The compass measures approximately 38mm in diameter. |
