The Boreal Arrow

Code BA16120601: Victorian Nautical Lether-Cased Compass, c. 1870

This is a nice Victorian leather-cased compass dating back to circa 1870. It has a nice floating dial with Nautical pattern typically used in the late 1800s. It has a quality jewelled brass cap and is covered with a glass crystal in excellent condition without chips or scratches. The case is brass and in excellent condition without dings or dents. The compass is in excellent working order and finds North easily and precisely. It has also a transit lock that can be activated by pushing the button under the loop. This prevents undue wear to the pivot when the compass is not in use. To release the dial and use the compass, the button must be pulled. The compass is fitted in a nice brown leather case with green velvet and still in excellent condition without damage. The hook is present and the lid closed and opens as it should. The inner compass measures 44mm in diameter and the leather outer case measures 54mm in diameter. Very nice and quality compass.
