Code BA16041402: Victorian Leather-Cased Compass, c. 1890
| This is a nice Victorian compass made around 1890. The compass has a oxidized case in excellent condition free of dings or dents. It has a quality floating dial with a brass jewelled cap. The dial has a special design pattern. It is covered with a slightly domed glass crystal free of scratches and chips. It comes in a brown leather-wood case that is still in excellent condition for its age with a strong hinge.The hook is present to secure the lid closed. The compass finds North precisely. It measures 32 mm in diameter excluding the pendant and ring. The leather case measures 41 mm in diameter. |
