Code BA141215693: Sighting SAVAGE & Son Compass, c. 1920

This is a sighting compass made by SAVAGE & Son, Sandhurst. This compass has a light green coloured dial. It is beautifully decorated and is graduated down to 1/2 of a degree. The case is made of gilt brass and still in excellent condition without dings or damage. Only some signs of aging to the gilt. It is engraved on the back 34, which corresponds to its serial number. The dial is marked SAVAGE & SON, SANDHURST. It is covered with a bras cover with an aperture to see the dial covered by a flat glass crystal in excellent condition without chips or scratches. The sighting vane operates as a transit lock. The prism is present and allow easy reading of the graduation on the dial. Everything is present and in working order. The compass is very precise and finds North without any problem. The compass measures 72mm in diameter.
