When rotated anti-clockwise the jewelled blue needle is released and finds North without any problem. The dial is marked REG. US. PATENT OFF, DAYNIFE, SWISS. The beveled glass is original and in excellent condition. The compass is working perfectly and finds magnetic North precisely. It measures 39mm in diameter.
