Code BA140701572: WW1 French & Son Leather-Cased Prismatic Compass, 1918

This is a WW1 Verners pattern military marching compass with leather case, dated 1918. Made by French & Son London and has the military arrow /|\ with serial number 120682. Has the traditional mother of pearl dial, for low light reading with the orange direction arrow intact. The brass lid has a strong hinge. The case has a brass knob on the side for transit locking of dial. The compass has also a magnifying prism for precise angles calculation (for target engagement). The leather case has the inscription JABEZ CLIFF & Co., WALSALL, LONDON, 1918 with military arrow /|\. The compass and leather case are in great condition. This is a fine example by a quality maker. Measures 5.4cm in diameter.
