The Boreal Arrow

This is a military marching compass made by the famous J. H. Steward of London. The brass case is still in excellent condition and has a strong hinge. No dings or dents. It is marked VERNER COMPASS PATENT, J. H. STEWARD, 406 STRAND LONDON. It has also a serial number 2807. Has brass knob on the side for transit locking of dial. The dial is dark white in colour. Inside the lid, there is a stripe made of the same material as the dial. It is possible to rotate the bezel to make use of the line under the crystal for angle calculation. The glass crystal is in excellent condition without chips or scratches. It comes in a leather case that is still in very good condition without any damage. This is a fine example by a quality maker. It is left in its original condition with a nice patina to the case. It measures 53 mm in diameter.
