| This is a WWI compass made around 1920. This model is called Aurapole and has private information engraved on the case: DAVID NORMAN, GREENHAM HALL, 1947. Probably, it was a presentation compass. It has jeweled bearing. Marked AURAPOLE, Short & Mason, London, England, Tycos on dial. The case is nickel and in nice condition with normal signs of use. No dings. When the button is pressed the lid springs open without any problem. The transit lock is functional when the lid is closed. In perfect working order and finds magnetic North easily. Size 4.5cm diameter. |
