The Boreal Arrow

Code BA11110213: French Hunter Seal Compass, c. 1920

This is a nice French compass that has a seal inside. It is very similar to a sovereign case. The case is nickel plated and in excellent condition. It has some loss to the nickel plating. It has a strong hinge and the springs works perfectly. The lid springs open when the button is pushed. The compass is in excellent working order and finds North easily. The seal is marked MARK DEPOSE PARIS (Trade Mark with a pistol). The seal reads: J. Bessy, Representant, 20, Rue de la Balme, Lyon. The diameter of the case is 3.5cm. Very nice and unusual compass with some history.
