The Boreal Arrow
Code BA11082126: Antique Abraham & Co. Brass Compass, c. 1830
This is a nice and rare early 19th century British compass from Abraham & Co., Liverpool. It was made approximately in 1830. Abraham & Co was a British producer of Nautical instruments in early 1800. The compass comes in a solid brass case in excellent condition with only some minor signs of use. The compass is clearly signed by maker on the dial. The jeweled cap needle is high quality. The compass is fully working and finds North without any problem. When the lid is closed it activates the transit lock, which freezes the needle when the compass is not in use. The compass measures 4.5cm in diameter. Very nice and rare compass.
